Colombo : Salute Sachin Tendulkar, known the world over as Master Blaster, has hit up the 48th century in his 21 year career. He has long superceded Don Bradman, although another Australian captain & batsman, Ricky Ponting, is chasing him on the race track. He still improves his records or rewrites them when other veterans like R. Dravid, VVS Lakshman and even Sehwag or Harbhajan (bowler) are faltering and fumbling like new cricketers when they are most required to do well and stand by their country as team members. While Sehwag got out foolishly on 99, Sachin older to him by 12 years or so, is still batting on 108 in Colombo, at a time when the Team India has lost 1-0 to the young Sri Lankans in a humiliating way in the first Test and just cannot avoid follow on in the 2nd and the last. It may be noted that the English cricket Magazine “Wisden” had predicted some years ago that Sachin had in him the capacity to hit Fifty Centuries before he retired. He is closing in on the wise forecast.
