Bangalore : Former CM DV Sadananda Gowda and his wife Datty along with another accused Anil have appeared before the Lokayukta court on December 14, Friday in connection with a petition filed against the three accusing them of raising an illegal construction in a government land and also getting sites allotted to them under discretionary quota.
All the three have also filed bail petitions before the court and the hearing into the same has been adjourned to December 27.
The three appeared before the Court after the Karnataka High Court dismissed their petitions seeking stay on the proceedings of the Lokayukta court. The HC also refused to exempt the three from personal appearance.
One Nagalakshmi in her petition had alleged that Datty had purchased 7.5 guntas of Gomala land in Bangalore North without valid documents and had raised a two-floor apartment there without license and without conversion of land in 2008. She had also pointed out that Gowda who was then the MP while declaring his assets, had not mentioned about this building.
The three have been booked under IPC sections 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document) 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property ) and 13(1)(c), 13(1)(d) read with section 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act.
