Mangaluru: A workshop on “Safety and Disaster Mangement” was held at Dr. Dayanand Pai –P. Sathisha Pai Government First Grade College Mangalore, Carstreet. The programme was organized by Youth Red Cross Wing and Rovers/Rangers unit of the college, in association with District Disaster Management Authority, D.K., N.D.R.F. Team and Indian Red Cross Society.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vijay, District Disaster Management, D.K. said, “Natural disasters and other emergencies can happen at any time, and everyone should know how to cope with such disasters safely and effectively.”
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel from Vijayawada demonstrated the techniques on how to handle natural disasters and man-made disasters. They explained how to take precautions in the event of floods, Cyclones, Fire, Accidents and other mishaps. Some of the Red Cross and Rovers students also participated in the demonstration.
Mr. Venu Sharma , Mr. Santhosh Peter D’Souza, Inspector Bihari Singh, ASI Mr. B. Bhulopan, Head Constable Mr. Mallikarjuna and D.K. Indian Red Cross Society members Mr. Santhosh Peter D’souza Mr. Nithin, Mr. Ajay Mr. Ashwin and Miss Sherin were present.
The programme was presided by Principal Prof. Rajshekar Hebbar. Youth Red Cross Coordinator Dr. Mahesh K.B. and Rangers/Rovers Coordinators Dr. Shailarani and Prof. Purushotham Bhat were also present.
