Bangalore: The Lokayukta court has postponed to December 2, the bribery case relating to KGF MLA-Y. Sampangi who is facing enquiry.
The accused MLA has invoked state High Court, praying for a stay order against enquiry into this foul episode. The HC gave 2 weeks of stay accordingly, which expires on December 1. So the Lokayukta Court takes up the case n December 2 now.
On Tuesday morning (November 22), Lokayukta Judge N.K. Sudheendra Rao wanted to hold the enquiry on December 1 itself, but the advocate suggested that High Court decision should be received. Then the judge postponed the enquiry to December 2, 2011.
MLA Sampangi had gone to High Court, requesting his case to be shifted from Lokayukta Court to elsewhere, but that has not been allowed by KHC. Only a stay order was grated, which ends on December 1 and the Lokayukta Judge is free to conduct his current enquiry thereafter.
