Puri: International sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik today created a sand sculpture on upcoming election with a message “Your vote matters” by creating a 5ft high sand sculpture of parliament and in front of this he created some symbols of top political parties. He named the sculpture “World’s largest Democracy”.
He took 4hours and using about 6 tons of sand to complete this sculpture. Students of his sand art school join hand with him. Pattnaik’s main aim is to create this sculpture is that everyone should cast their vote because it is our birth right.
The state election commissioner put me as a state icon for the upcoming election. I want to request all the citizen of India to cast their vote as it is their birth right, said Sudarsan
Sudarsan has so far participated in more than 50 International sand sculpture championships across the world and won many awards for the country. Through his art he helped the tsunami victims in India, save the endangered Olive Ridley Turtles and spread awareness of the dangers of HIV-AIDS and polio.
