Mangalore : Syed Fakruddin Huseni’s ‘Sanji Mask workshop’ was held at auditorium of Canara High School, Urwa on August 29, Thursday.
Mangalpady Namdev Shenoy of Sevanjali Charitable Trust, Mangalore inaugurated the workshop.
Around 188 students, 20 teachers and 8 parents participated in the workshop held in morning and afternoon session.
Speaking on the occasion, Huseni said that Sanji art is well-known as Kirigami in Japan. This art gives exercise for the finger tip which is used as therapy. It is less exposed in India, he said.
He also said that he has been doing the art from past 12 years and touring to various places to teach the paper cutting art among the children from 5 years. He mostly visits and teaches the art in the rural areas, he said.
Ashok Pandit, Vedavyas Kamath, Venky Palimar, Veena Sriinivas and others were present at the event.
