Udupi : Santha Bhadragiri Achyutdas, a renowned Harikatha artiste breathed his last  at his residence at Bangalore on October 22, Tuesday. He suffered a cardiac arrest.

Achyutdas who originally belonged to Brahmavar, had shifted location to Bangalore years ago. He had also served as the Honorary President of the Keerthana Kala Parishat. He used to present Harikathas and Sankeerthanas in Marathi, Konkani, Kannada and Tulu languages.

He was also the recipient of several awards including Rajyotsava, Purandara and Paryaya Awards.
