Mangalore : Sapna (20), a final year Bcom student of Besant College here died of suspected dengue fever.
Deceased Sapna is resident of Sasihithlu, who was admitted to a private hospital at KMC Hospital located near Jyothi Circle on Monday breathed her last on Wednesday July 13 at 6.30 pm as said by the authorities of KMC Hospital.
Speaking to the Mangalore Today, Sapna’s friends said that till Wednesday, the bill for Sapna’s treatment was Rs 45,000, but immediately next day, when the doctors said the family that Sapna is no more, the bill was increased to Rs One lakh. But when her parents went to release her body, the authority gave the bill of Rs one and half lakhs.
The body was released at 1.30 pm today, in which the students and management of Besant women’s college had given the amount of Rs 70,000 for her parents.
They also said that, when they had visited the hospital on Wednesday, they had seen a list of patients name in hand of the watch man and only Sapna’s name was ticked in pen, when they asked about it, he did not answer. Later too on Wednesday, the hospital staffs had not given any food to her in the evening and on Thursday, the parents and friends were not allowed to see her in ICU ward and at 6 20 pm doctors said that Sapna was recovering, but when they asked to see her, around 6.30 pm, they said that he is no more.
During the course of her treatment, the doctors had also said that she was suffering from kidney disease, rat fever and later said that she died of dengue.
