Mangalore : Gujarat’s energy minister Sourabhbhai Patel in Mangalore on Saturday approached the coastal people to realize the project of a 182 meter high Statue of Sardar Vallabhbai Patel, late Deputy prime minister of India on 15 December 1950.
The Statue will be installed when ready on the Banks of Narmada and will be called Statue of Unity, perhaps the tallest such in the world. Saurabh for their told that iron pieces used by the people would be collected from all over India and melted to create a huge Statue in memory of the Iron Man of India.
He requested the participation of one and all to make the great project a real one he said it had nothing to do with making Narendra Modi as next PM in 2014, but the collection of iron from people would continue until the statue can be built in Gujarat.
