Mangalore:  Each and every citizen is equally responsible as far as environment protection is concerned, said Mangalore University Vice Chancellor TC Shivashankermurthi.

He was speaking at a special awareness programme titled “Save Environment from Plastic Pollution” organized by the Department of Bio-Sciences of Mangalore University. The program was inaugurated by collecting bio-degradable and non bio degradable wastes and dumping them into separate bins meant for them.

A hand out ‘Save Environment” was released at the function and the same distributed to the general public.

Prashanth Naik, Programme Co-ordinator, K Chinnappa Gowda, Dean, Faculty of Science and Technology and several teaching and non-teaching staff of the university took part in the programme. Even the Scouts and Guides from Vishwamangala School Konaje and Sri Ramakrishna High School, actively participated in the programme.
