Mangalore : State Bank of India, Mangalore main branch had organised a programme to felicitate all those police officers and other staff of Mangalore Police who could nab all the culprits and recover the entire money involved of Rs 25 lakhs on Dec 15 in the ATM cash robbery case.
Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh felicitated six police personnels like K Somaiah, Mohan, Udaya CH, Shivaprasad K, Harish T and Rajesh O with shawl, garland and a memento.
Speaking on the occasion, B G Sadashiva, assistant general manager, SBI said that Bank has introduced all such security measures as instructed by the commissioner of police immediately after the incident like providing additional guard facility, introducing big boxes with heavy metal chain so that one individual can not lift such boxes. The outsourcing agency, have already introduced Bullet Proof vehicle for the purpose of carrying currency notes and all possible security measures are put in place to guard against recurrence of such incidents in future.
Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh said that the higher officers are getting recognised because of the police constables. The constables have put their effort a lot and if the bus would cross over the distance, then it would be difficult to catch them sine they are professional thieves.
The control room had used their presence of mind and was coordinating with the police through the wireless and monitoring every incident quickly. This kind of programme will build self confidence in the police officials.
SBI rewards the constables with the cheque of Rs 25,000 through Police Commissioner on the occasion.
Ganesh Bhat, AGM of SBI, RASMECC presided over the event. DCP Law and Order M Muthuraya and DCP Crime and Traffic Dharmaiah and others were present.
