Udupi: Noted scholar Katte Vadiraja Acharya (84), passed away at his residence in Udupi on July 18, Wednesday. He was the elder brother of former minister Dr VS Acharya. He is survived by wife, two sons and three daughters.

Acharya had served as a teacher  in  schools in Bhatkal and Kasargod and also at the U Kamala Bai High School in Udupi. He had continued to serve the TA Pai English Medium School at Kunjibettu even after retirement.
