Srinagar (Kashmir): Even as three Indian interlocutors had been busy meeting cross-sections of people in two visits to the Kashmir valley to assess the political aspirations of the people and report back to UPA govt in Delhi, a school bus was reduced to a skeleton by a group of Kashmiri Muslim protestors to enforce a bundh call given by the separatist Hurriyat Party in downtown Srinagar this morning, without casualties on human side.
The driver, the conductor and a child were in the bus as per witnesses, but the 3 were asked to alight before the bus was targeted by fire. The bus was owned by a private school in city. The Hurriyat chairman S.A.S Geelani who is under house arrest had called for a closure of offices, schools and markets for the day. Only private vehicles moved around. Public transport vehicles did not run.
