Mangaluru : On the occasion of 41 years of yeoman service to the Nation, Indian Coast Guard Karnataka in association with Forum Fiza Mall, Pandeshwar, conducted a Drawing and Painting competition at 1600 hrs on 27 January 2018.
The Drawing and Painting competition was conducted in the picturesque atrium of Forum Fiza Mall, Pandeshwar. Budding artists from various schools located in Mangalore were invited. A total of 236 students from various schools participated in the event. In addition, children form Coast Guard fraternity also participated.
The theme for the competition was “Unity in Diversity”. The feelings, creativity and ideas of the children were provided a common platform at the competition. It was amazing to see how the young minds perceive the society and wish for united country irrespective of religion, language, State or culture.
The event culminated with prize distribution ceremony, wherein best three paintings in different age groups were awarded with prizes and certificates. ln age group 06-10 yrs, Yashas Acharya and Sinchana were winner and runner up respectively. ln age group 11-15 yrs, Siri Subash and Mokshit Suresh were adjudged as winner and runner up respectively. All the participants were given certificates for participation.
Deputy Inspector General SS Dasila, TM, the Commander, Coast Guard Karnataka was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The Chief Guest was pleased with the conduct of Drawing and Painting competition by the joint participation of Coast Guard Karnataka and Forum Fiza Mall management.
The Commander stated, “It’s our duty to nourish the young minds by providing them suitable environment to grow and express themselves. Drawing and Sketches are the finest mediums of expression. Children learn by indulging their minds in colours”. The Commander thanked all the organizers, participants, schools and parents who had come forward for the conduct of successful event at Forum Fiza Mall, Pandeshwar.
