Mangaluru : Schools have reopened in Dakshina Kannada district on May 16, Monday as elsewhere in the state for the academic year 2022-23.
A festive atmosphere prevailed in most schools with special events organised to welcome the students.
In Government schools a special event called Malebillu has been organised. This event is to be held for 14 days.
On the first day, today students were accorded a warm welcome. In some schools, balloons were gifted to students. Procession was also taken out by students of some schools.
Most schools were seen decorated to welcome the students.
Rajesh Naik Ulippadi, Bantwal MLA, inaugurated the Taluk level school opening at Government Higher Primary School Nattarakere in Kallige.
