Mangalore, June 23, 2012: The minister for Higher Education Kageri Vishweshwar Hegde said that the state governmental programme ‘Shaalegagi Navu Neevu’ launched last year will be more developed this year too and will be implemented in all the schools in the state from July 5.
He was speaking at the press meet held at Circuit House on June 23, Saturday. He said that the programme Shaalegagi Navu Neevu’ will be implemented on July 5 and the follow up will be done to assess from July 6 to July 31.
He said that the state government is working to give the qualitative education to all the students, with providing all the basic facilities to solve the problem with the fund sanctioned for education.
Speaking about government schools, he said that society must have soft feeling towards the government schools and maintain a relation with the school by supporting and encouraging it.
The central government has introduced RTE act and the state government has implemented it and all must accept it with responsibility. According to RTE the children must have compulsory education till standard 8, but the discussions are made to make compulsory education till degree, he said.
Speaking on migrant children, he said that mobile schools have been have been introduced to them and further a special programme in August – September and a boarding school for the migrant children.
CBSE syllabus has been introduced to 1st PUC PCMB combination and text books have been introduced to standard 5 and 8 under National Curriculum Framework and next year it will be introduced to other classes also, he said.
