Ujire: “Writing a science article is not an easy job. It requires maximum preparation and references. It is very much necessary to localise the article so that it will be helpful and applicable to everyone,” said renowned columnist Rohit Chakratheertha.
He was addressing the gathering in an interaction programme with the students’ mass communication and journalism organised by media messengers club at SDM PG Centre on October 22.
“It is difficult to translate the technical terminologies in Kannada. We can’t use the English terminologies also. If English terminologies are used in the article, then it becomes harder to the reader to understand the article. So, the easy and simple words should be maintained in the science write-ups,” he said.
He further said that mentioning the data is very important, but the data’s should not be dumped in the article. Data’s should be easily understood by the readers or else the essence of the article will fade away.
“There is a lot of demand for the science article writers, but the number of science writers is considerably less. So, the students should the habit of writing science articles and should start to read more articles so that it will be helpful in the future,” he added.
