New Delhi: A cold wave and white screen fell over Delhi, India’s Capital city on Friday morning, disrupting aviation and train travels. At IGI Airport, 75 aircrafts were held up and flight schedules got mixed up or delayed.
Two Jet Airways planes from Doha and Abu Dhabi, as also a kingfisher aircraft from Dubai could not land in fog-filled Delhi and went to Jaipur for a warm-up. A Cargo Carrier from Chennai to Delhi was diverted to Ahmedabad far away.
10 air services were cancelled. The snowfall started at 2 AM and fog covered the runway Soon, so nothing could be sighted beyond just 100 meters ahead. To fly a plane, the pilot needs a clear path ahead upto 150 meters.
