Mangalore: A scrap shop owned by one Mohammad Ashraf, and located near the checkpost at Tokkottu was completely destroyed in a fire that broke out on the night of November 30, Friday.

A short circuit is suspected to be the cause of the fire. The loss of property due to the fire has been estimated at Rs 5 lakhs.

The fire service squad along with locals put out the fire. Even the adjoining Bhagavathi hardware shop sustained some damages due to the fire.

Ullal police have registered a case.
