Mangalore : A resident of Urvastore has accused the Pandeshwar constable of abusing him under the influence of alcohol while not on duty.
Speaking at the monthly SC/ST Grievance redressal meeting held at the Mangalore Police Commissionerate office on November 25, Sunday, Sadashiva, a Dalit said the constable named Shaaju had abused him on two occasions and alleged that no action followed against the PC despite a complaint.
He also urged the Mangalore Police Commissioner to probe the issue. Commissioner Manish Kharbikar who was present assured to do the needful.
Meanwhile, a resident of Derebail Ashok Konchadi hhas accused a Dalit leader Krishnappa Konchady of coming in the way of the Dalits availing benefits of government schemes. He alleged that Krishnappa and one Ravichandra, who however was not a Dalit had forged signatures and furnished false information and alleged that Ravichandra had encroached property earmarked for Dalits. He also charged the duo of misusing a letter head of the CPIM.
Ashok said in another case Krishnappa Konchady had come in the way of a Dalit Hemanth in securing funds for construction of house under SC/ST 22.75 scheme by seeing to it that the cheque was withheld after submitting a petition that the land where Hemath intended to construct a house was a disputed property.
