Mangaluru: SDM College, Ujire bagged the overall championship trophy in the ArtBeat, the annual fest of Arts faculty of the St Aloysius College while Alva’s College, Moodbidri won the runners-up trophy.

ArtBeat, a component of the annual Aloysian Fest, was organised by the faculty of Arts. ArtBeat 2018 was themed ‘Grandeur – A Panorama of Heritage’ and focused on the imperial history of India.

There were 15 competitions namely “ Ashvaghosha (Poetry Slam), Bitthipatram (Poster Making), Sidha Prasaran (Live News Reporting), Ekalanaty (Mono Act), Chitra Vimarshan (Film Review), Chayachitra (Photography), Sarvajna (Quiz), Ishtihaar Baazi (Mad Ad), Vaad Vivaad (Debate), Manovidnyanam (Psychology Case Analysis), Arthashastra (Budget Preparation), Khana Khazana (Cooking without Fire), Aap Ki Darbar (Mock Parliament), Nidhi Anvesanam (Treasure Hunt) and Suvastra (Fashion Show).

During the valedictory, Na Damodar Shetty called upon students to participate in extra curricular activities.

In his presidential address, Principal Dr Alwyn D’Sa urged students to contribute their best to the field of humanities in order to develop it further and use their potential to achieve greater heights.
