Mangalore: The Social Democratic Party of India has urged the government to take immediate steps to appoint a Lokayukta/. The SDPI staged a protest in front of the DC office in Mangalore on July 3, Tuesday, in support of the demand.
The agitators alleged that the state government dreaded to appoint a Lokayukta fearing more skeletons will come roll down its cupboard.
Akbar Ali, District General Secretary of SDPI appealed to the governor to direct the state government to appoint a Lokayukta and threatened that the SDPI would intensify protest otherwise.
Several SDPI workers took part in the protest.
