Mangaluru : A large number of devotees arrived to Kukke Subrahmanya temple on Ashlesha Nakshatra day, after knowing Subrahmanya Gram Panchayat limits sealed down they returned.
The Subrahmanya Gram Panchayat limits has been completely sealed down and is one of the 17 villages of Dakshina Kannada district which have been sealed down to check Covid-19 cases.
On Tuesday the authorities fined several devotees who had arrived despite the seal down orders. It is learnt that the relaxation in lockdown rules in 19 districts of the state has led to devotees arriving to this famous pilgrim town.
Moreover as Tuesday was Ashlesha Nakshatra day a large number of devotees had planned to visit the shrine and all were sent back. There were even instances of altercations between the police and the devotees.
