Mangaluru : Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Dr KV Rajendra offered his assistance as a medical professional as the second phase of the Covid-19 vaccination drive kicked off in the district on Monday.

Frontline workers across the government departments will be vaccinated in the second phase of the drive and the DC was seen checking the blood pressure of cops who trooped in to take the jab.

Prior to cracking the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination, Rajendra graduated with an MBBS degree, and on Monday, in addition to assisting the healthcare personnel with his professional services, the DC was the first to take the jab as the second phase of the drive kicked off.

He was followed by Mangaluru city police commissioner N Shashi Kumar.
