Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada police and city police commissionerate have decided to extend the section 144 in the district till November 16. This decision has been taken following the two murder attempts at Ullal and Konaje police station limits.
Speaking to the reporters on Sunday, Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar said that the prohibitory orders which were imposed in the wake of Tippu Jayanthi are being extended till November 16 till 6 pm. No political, social or public gatherings as well as rallies and processions are allowed to conduct.
“A RSS worker was attacked by a person who is belonging to other community. This was happened when the body of Mustafa Kavoor, accused in Prashanth Poojary’s murder was brought to home town for final rites. Later two persons were stabbed by the persons who were belonging to other community,” he said.
He further said that another incident happened in Kalladka where a person threw soda bottle on other community prayer centre. Police have arranged additional security to curb such incidents. BJP and pro-Hindu organisations have decided to stage protest on November 15 near Thokkottu junction. So, to control the law and order in the district the section 144 has been extended till November 16.
