Mangaluru : A security guard of Kotak Mahindra Bank in Kodialbail branch died by misfired his own gun, on Thursday, March 26.

The deceased has been identified as Thammaiah (55) hails from Madikeri.

It is said, when Thammaiah moving towards the staircase with his double barreled gun, he accidently pressed the trigger, which fired the bullet right into his neck, killing him on the spot. The nozzle of the gun was facing upward.

He had been working in the bank for the last three years. He survived wife and two daughters.

Thammaiah had misfired the gun second time in office premises. His son-in-law Satish, who stays in Suratkal, rushed to the spot soon after the incident.

DCP Vishnuvardhan, Local Forensic Science Department visited the spot to recorded statements of the employees.

Kadri police have registered a case.
