Bengaluru: A recent post by India-centric online propaganda magazine by terrorist outfit ISIS has put out a picture of a beheaded Lord Shiva statue.
According to the report, the idol represents the 123 feet tall famous Shiva statue located in Murudeshwara town beach of Uttara Kannada district in Karnataka. It is a very famous pilgrimage site.
The image posted by ISIS has gone viral and created a tense situation in the communally sensitive coastal district of Uttara Kannada in Karnataka.
Self-styled analyst and observer, Anshul Saxena posted the image on his Twitter account. The front cover of the online propaganda magazine ‘The Voice of Hind’ of the terrorist outfit has put out a picture of a beheaded Shiva statue and also showed the head being replaced by an ISIS flag.
The front page of the magazine cover also read: “It’s time to come to break false gods”.
As per the report, Anshul Saxena’s post, Hindu outfits are furious over the depiction of Lord Shiva in the online magazine cover.
Following Saxena’s appeal to the state government and Centre to upgrade the security at Murudeshwara town in the backdrop of ISIS magazine publishing the beheaded image, the Karnataka government tightened security at Murudeshwara temple.
Notably, Murudeshwara coastal town is located very close to Bhatkal town, which is under the constant watch of Indian Intelligence agencies. Terrorist Yasin Bhatkal hails from this city.
