Mangaluru: Seeking blessings from god almighty for the justice for state in Cavery river dispute between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, former union minister Janardhana Poojary performed ‘Urulu Seve’ at Kudroli Gokarnanatheshwara temple, on Sunday.
Before performing ‘Urulu Seve’ Poojary offered prayers to the god and said that may the verdict of Cauvery dispute come on the favour of Karnataka Along with this there are many water disputes in the country. All the disputes should get a solution.
He also said that the verdict on Yettinahole project should also come in favour of Dakshina Kannada.
Though he is 79 years of old, he performed ‘Urulu Seve’ on the hot marbles at temple premise.
MLA J R Lobo, former MLA Vijay Kumar Shetty and others were present.
Later, speaking to the reporters Poojary said that the verdict of Cauvery disoute should be in favour of people. The verdict should not hurt any people. Violence in the name of water is threat to the unity of this country. The matter should not be politicised, but the verdict should please everyone.
“I prayed deities to give wisdom to our CM Siddaramaiah, because he has much responsibility towards securing the unity of this nation. Power is not important to take any major decision. He should follow the principles of Narayana Guru. Many politicians try to protect their chair. Nobody works for people. It is a golden opportunity for the CM to create history in Karnataka by working for people,” he said.
Commenting on DySP Ganapathi suicide case he said that a person will not lie, when he has decided to kill himself. Ganapathi had given a dying declaration. Then what is the value of a dying declaration? CID has worked has per the directions of CM, George and other two officials are main accused in this case.
“If K J George is included in the cabinet again, then it becomes difficult to Congress to survive in the state. The case should be reviewed in Supreme Court,” he added.
Speaking on DySP Anupama Shenoy, he said that she fought for justice. As a woman and a police officer it is her duty to fight for justice. There is nothing wrong to take back her to perform her duty.
