Mangaluru: “Seize the Ola, Uber and other cabs operating in the city,” said Dakshina Kannada deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim.

Addressing the officials from various departments at his office on Wednesday, he said that the cabs should be seized with immediate effect as they haven’t submitted their documents.

“The city police must seize the cabs from tomorrow if they are still operating in the city. Because they haven’t submitted the necessary documents even after giving the deadline,” he said.

An auto driver supported this stand of DC by saying that MCC had closed Jugul cab service for not paying trade license.

Social activist Hanumanth Nayak alleged that due to the city busses, the people are facing many problems including traffic jam. The busses stop the key junctions causing traffic jams. The bus stands should be shifted away from the junctions.

Reacting for this suggestion DC instructed the MCC and traffic officials to shift the bus stops from key junctions, so there will not be any problem of traffic jam.

ADC Kumar, SP Bhushan Borase and others were present in the meeting.
