Mangaluru : The state government has sent a circular to the excise department to accept self-attested documents in all government departments, said Member of Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza here on Monday January 5.
D’Souza said, people no need to attach affidavits issued by notary or documents attested by gazetted officers with applications made to government departments.
The matter was taken up in the Council by Excise Minister V Srinivas Prasad has stated that from now on self attested documents will be accepted.”
Further he said, the government has notified all the Deputy Commissioners in the state to direct governmental departments to accept self attested copies.
Karnataka Panchayat Raj Act, which came into being 21 years ago the state government is considered to strengthen the Panchayat Raj system making amendments as per former MLC president K R Ramesh Kumar report and former MLA N G Nanjaiahmatt report, he said.
