Mangaluru: Two days state level seminar on ‘Protection of children from sexual crimes act-2012’ was inaugurated by the 6th additional district and sessions court judge D T Puttarangaswamy, at ISD hall of CODP, Nantoor on Wednesday.

Addressing the gathering he said that for sexual crime on children cases only the punishment will not considered as a solution.

“There is a need of spreading the awareness to solve this problem at grassroot level itself. We cannot find solution by blaming the accused for every cases, we should watch our children how they are growing up,” he said.

He further said that concerned officials should disburse the compensation to the victims of the sexual assaults. Sometimes disbursement of the fund will not be done though there will be enough fund.

State Children’s Rights Commission President Kripa A Alva, DCP Shatharaju and others were present.
