Mangalore: The subject of higher education has always been a matter of debate, deliberation and discussion, said Dr S Ramananda Shetty, Vice Chancellor of Nitte University.
Speaking after inaugurating a seminar on “Recent Developments in Higher Education in India”, at the SDM College here on October 5 under the auspices of the Association of First Grade College Principals, he said Indian higher education field is as old as 155 years and traced the evolution of the higher education sphere in India. He said a university is a place where new ideas germinate, strike roots and grow tall and sturdy. It is a place where creative minds converge, interact with each other and construct visions of new ideas.
