Kasargod: In an alleged suicide case district sessions court judge hanged himself on Wednesday morning at 10 at government quarters, Vidhyanagar.

Previously he was in news for assaulting police sub inspector and other personnel in Sullia.

Unnikrishnan (46) of Trishur is the deceased person.

On November 6 while returning from Subrahmanya he went to Sullia and caught an auto rickshaw of Abobakar and started to speak in English. When aboobakar said that he can’t understand English and requested to speak in Malayalam, Unnikrishnan assaulted him. Aboobakar took the auto to the Sullia police station and called the duty police.

There Unnikrishnan had assaulted on constable Suchin and home guard staff Abdul Gafoor. Later he was taken to the station SI Chandrashekhar and ASI Purushottham, where he pulled the collar of both and tried to assault them, it is gathered. Kasargod police who arrived at Sullia tok him back to Kerala.

It is suspected that the guilt feel of his misbehaviour might be the reason behind taking this extream step.

He is survived by his wife and two children. His body has been sent for post mortem at Kasargod district general hospital.
