Mangaluru: “Installing set up box for cable TV network is compulsory for rural areas also,” said ADC Kumar in a meeting with all cable MSOs and district level nodal officers, on Thursday at DC office.

“Digitalisation of cable has been made mandatory in entire country. Already first, second and third phase of digitalisation has been completed. Under fourth phase digitalisation at rural areas in ongoing,” he said.

He further said that the Central government has given the deadline to finish the third phase before 31 December. From 1 January previous analogue connections will be disconnected automatically.

“The fourth phase should be completed before February end and from March the old analogue connections will be disconnected in rural areas also,” he added.
