Udupi : Seven fishermen on board have been rescued from a deep sea fishing boat which capsized mid-sea between Goa and Maharashtra.
The boat named “Mathura’’ owned by Taranath Kunder of Malpe had left Malpe Port on November 17. It had capsized on November 26 noon. It has been gathered that the boat met with the mishap after its bottom hit an hard object during fishing.
This led to the rupture of the boat hull and water had begun entering the boat. The rescued fishermen have returned to Malpe in another boat. The loss has been estimated at Rs 65 lakhs.
