Mangaluru : The Mangaluru Police have arrested seven people in 24 cases of crime reported from various police station limits within the commissionerate jurisdiction, informed City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar at a press meet here on November 2.
Those arrested are Mohammed Fazal (32) from Mallur, Arshad (42) from Chokkabettu, Mohammed Rehman (23) from Kundapur, Abdul Isham (26) and Mohammed Tausif (30) from Kavoor, Safwan (29) from Panjimogaru and Abdul Khader (30) from Shaktinagar.
Police have recovered gold jewellery worth Rs 10 lakh, three two-wheelers worth Rs 5 lakhs and five stolen motorcycles and other jewellery from the accused.
The police were on the lookout for the accused who were wanted in chain snatching, robbery, assault on cops, bike theft cases in Mangaluru North, Kavoor, Urwa, Mangaluru East, Ullal, Bajpe and other police station limits.
Of the accused, Abdul Isham has nine cases against him while Mohammad Faizal has three cases. Abdul Khader has two cases while Mohammad Tausif has one case against him.
