Mangalore : A college bus of the Canara Engineering College at Benjanapadavu carrying over 50 students overturned near a hillock close by the college on February 25, Monday evening. Several students sustained minor injuries in the mishap.

Sources said the accident took place when the bus driver applied sudden brakes to avert hitting a car coming from the opposite direction. To add to the problem, the road was slopy leading to the accident.

Bantwal rural police have registered a case.
