Mangalore: MMV Drawing Competition Mangalore 2012 aimed at creating awareness regarding Malaria among students, organized by the Medicines for Malaria Venture, Geneva in association with KMC, Mangalore, Health Department and Malaria Cell of MCC was inaugurated at the Government Girls High School Balmatta on October 2, Tuesday by senior commercial artist Vishnu Shevgoor. The inauguration was by a quick stroke of colours by the chief guest depicting the intensity of Malaria. He handed over the painting materials to the Principal of the School Vasudev Kamath.
Nearly 227 students took part in the contest. Dr Arun Kumar, District Officer for Vector Borne Disease Control, Ranganath Kini, Corporator and Srilatha Ullal, NSS Co-ordinator of Nitte University. S Nandagopal, Convenor of Centre for integrated Learning, Mahesh Nayak, journalist and Sachitha Nandagopal were also present. Awareness posters of the Malaria awareness drive were also released.
