Belthangady: A case of sexual harassment on a minor girl belonging to a Scheduled Tribe has been registered at Dharmasthala Police Station under POCSO Act and Scheduled Castes and Tribes Violence Act.

A woman who went to the plantation with her minor daughter was sexually assaulted by a man named Rejimonu in Balkaje, of Kalejna village in Belthangady taluk.

It is learned that Rejimono had been physically molesting the girl and had sexually assaulted her and threatened her with death by her worker. Shocked by this, the girl never told anyone about the assault. She later told her brother-in-law about this. He had filed a complaint at Dharmasthala station on September 10.

It is learned that Dharmasthala police, which took over the case, have arrested the accused Rejimonu and Krishna and booked them under POCSO Act and Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes Violence Act.
