Mangalore : Several students under the aegis of the Students Federation of India demonstrated in front of the Mangalore Central Railway Station on July 4, Wednesday opposing the change in timings of the Chervattur-Mangalore passenger train.
Addressing the protestors, Nitin Kumar Kuttar, District President of the SFI said the change in train timings has inconvenienced regular travelers between Karnataka and Kerala.
Following the delayed departure of the train from Chervattur, by about one and a half hours i.e. 7 am every day, students faced a lot of inconvenience as the train now reaches Mangalore at 9 am instead of the earlier 8.30 as a result of which students reached their schools and colleges late.
He warned that the SFI would intensify its protest if the change in train timings was not revoked.
A memorandum was also submitted to Palakkad railway officials.
