Mangalore : A demonstration rally was held on Thursday in front of D.C Office to emphasize fact that over 30 years hundreds of cruel and immoral cases of killing young female students or women had happened in Dharmasthala area were Heggade family ruled for centuries .
The Student Federation of India leaders (SFI) made it known to all who gathered at the rally that nothing was done to redress the grievances of the families concerned.
Dharmasthala has only a Police outpost outside the area and across the river Netravathi. So, all those cases of cruel murders to young girls or women’s, many of them college going were kept in the dark and were never investigation upon.
SFI leader Jivan Raj Kuthar, who spoke at the meeting pointed out that several communications had been sent to the state government demanding and enquiry in all earlier cases in hundreds of them, bt no action was taken. But, one letter from the CM ending over the case of Sowjanya’s murder alerted the CBI which never bothered to enquiry into earlier cases of atrocities. Their for, the SFI doubted whether the CBI would do justice Sowjanya’s family or not, according to the leader.
He continue that on November 8 a joint student’s rally would be organize in Beltangady demanding Social justice to all those missing girls and their parents involved in earlier hundreds of cases. Failing which the SFI is bound to intensify the struggle demanding immediate enquiry into each and every such case of rape and murder.
Another leader Madhuri speaking on the occasion, refer to an earlier case of Akshatha’s murder and informed the rally that the case was never taken up till the end. Hence, one would have doubts in both cases of Sowjanya and Akshatha that justice would be done to them.
At the rally SFI President Nitin Kuthar, Salem Malar, Mayuri, B.K. Imthiyaz and others were present.
