Bangalore : Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday said the Bidai or “Shaadi Bhagya” scheme will be extended to the poor belonging to all the minority communities.

He told reporters that in the coming days the government would look into the possibility of extending it to all sections of society.

On the KJP’s dharna demanding extension of the scheme, he said: “Yeddyurappa (KJP president) need not dictate terms to the government. He is staging a dharna for political gains.”

Siddaramaiah said it is not a new scheme, but was announced in the budget. Yeddyurappa could have discussed it in the budget session, but he was silent then.
