Bantwal : Former Puttur MLA T Shakuntala Shetty who until now did not make her stance clear about her political moves, surprised her followers as well as detractors by  meeting deputy chief minister  R Ashok who had come to Bantwal to have a look at the new site for KSRTC bus stand.

Reports say both Shetty and Ashok held talks for a while. Sources also revealed that Shakuntala expressed her desire to be a part of her parent party once again.

It may be recalled here that she had kept her followers in tenterhooks till recently by not divulging her plans. There were rumours that she would join the JD(S) after former CM Kumaraswamy met her at her residence some time back.
