Kundapur : Shamanur Shivashankerappa, MLA of Davangere South constituency and Congress leader, has offered a golden arch (Prabhavali) to the famous Hattiangady Sri Siddivinayaka Temple on February 28.

The leader offered the prabhavali weighing 3.5 kg to  the temple, as per the wishes of his daughter-in-law.

Administrative Trustee H Ramanchandra Bhat, temple priest HL Balachandra Bhat, Sharankumar, Principal of Shri Siddhivinayaka Residential School, L T Thimmappa Hegde, former MLA and president of Shri Siddivinayaka Educational Trust, Shivashankarappa’s son Ganesh, Rekha Ganesh and other family members were present.

The prabhavali was earlier brought to the temple in a palanquin procession.

Later speaking to reporters, Shamanur Shivashankerappa said the Congress would emerge victorious in the ensuing elections to the local administration bodies.
