Mangalore : The Navarathri celebration came to an end with the immersion of last idol of goddess Sharada, worshipped by Shri Sharada Mahotsav Committee at Acharya Mutt premises, Sri Venkataramana Temple, Car Street on October 7, Friday.
The idol was taken on a grand procession from premises of Venkatramana Temple in the evening and passes through Gaddekeri, Dongarakeri, New Chitra theate, Lower Car Street, Upper Car Street and culminates near the Mahammayi Lake.
Since 89 years, the Sharada Mahotsav Committee has been organizing Sharada Puja. This year, the worship of goddess Sharada started on October 3, Sunday to October 7, Friday. . The committee organized various cultural programmes in the evening in the premises.
Various tableaux comprising of tiger dance, Anarkali by flower market team, other historical scenes were accompanied during the procession.
