Mangaluru: Direct phone-in programme with police will start from August 5, informed Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar, on Thursday.
Addressing the press personnel at his office he said that many people hesitate to visit the police stations, even if they have some complaint to be registered.
“To be in constant touch with people and to solve their problems Mangaluru police have initiated a direct phone-in programme, which will commence from August 5, Friday. The lines will be open on every Friday from 10 am to 11 am. People can make the most use of it,” he said.
He further said that people can register their complaints by calling on 0824- 2220801 or +0824- 2220830. “Even I will also receive the phone calls if, I am present in the office. In the absence of mine, the calls will be received by DCP of law and Order Shantharaju,” he added.
