Bangalore: Jagadish Shettar will be sworn in as the new chief minister of the state on July 11, Wednesday, after the week long political crisis in the state ended with the high command agreeing to dislodge Sadananda Gowda.
BJP sources said the legislative party meeting of the BJP would be held at a private hotel in the capital on Tuesday, July 10. The meeting will be held in the presence of BJP national leaders Arun Jaitley and Rajnath Singh.
Later, Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda would meet the state governor and tender his resignation. He will be accompanied by Shettar and State BJP Chief Eshwarappa.
It is learnt, Shettar will be sworn in at the Glass House of Raj Bhavan in a simple manner.
Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda who spoke to reporters prior to returning to Bangalore from Delhi, said he would adhere to the high command decision to go for a leadership change.
He also said the party has given him everything right from the opportunity of becoming an MLA, MP and then the chief minister.
Asked if his political godfather turned against him, Sadananda Gowda shot back asking who was the person the scribes were referring to and remarked jovially that he had different god fathers at different stages of his political career.
