Mangalore : Supporters of former MLA Vijaykumar Shetty and District Congress Minorities Cell Chief BA Moidin Bava entered into a brawl at the Mangalore airport on April 6, Saturday evening.

The supporters of the two leaders vied with each other to meet senior leader Oscar Fernandes who landed at the airport, when the incident took place.

This incident took place close on the heels of the Saturday morning incident when supporters of Ivan D’Souza staged a protest outside DCC office demanding ticket for their leader. They were opposing JR Lobo’s candidature in Mangalore South.

In the latest brawl, the race was for the ticket in Mangalore North constituency and both Shetty and Bava were strong aspirants.

It is said one group had gone to the airport to welcome Oscar while another group wanted to demand ticket for their leader.
