Mangalore: Speeking at a crowded meeting full of MLAs, ministers and Govt. officers on Monday Dec.30, union labor and surface transport minister Oskar Fernandez of Udupi stated that an amount of Rs. 100 crores ( Rs.5 crores in the first stage and Rs.95 crores ion the second) had been sanctioned to take up urgent repairs on a scientific basics, widening of the road and strengthening of the 42 km road and other development works related to this highway are on the cards and would be taken up for implementation as soon as possible.
He also spoke about an under bridge at Nanthoor to reduce the vehicular rush in the city at this junction, and an amount of Rs.40 crores has been year marked for the purpose.
He added that a long over bridge commencing from KPT near Kadri Park to MIA in Bajpe is proposed to be built at a suitable coast, which will reduce the time of passage from Kadri to Kenjaru Airport to a bare 15 minutes for vehicles bound for the Airport.
NHA DGM Kandaswami, DK district in charge minister B Ramanath Rai, health minister U T Khader, DK DC AB Ibrahim, MLA and Shakuntala Shetty, Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake and other dignitaries were present at the meeting addressed by Oskar Fernandes in a press meet.
