Mangaluru : Sri Lakshmivara Theertha Swamji, one of Seers of the Udupi Astha Mutt died on 19th Thursday due to suspicion of poisoning according to the doctors and investigation is on to find out whether swamiji had food that was poisoned or poison itself was served to him as food. Swamij is known to have been in Shiroor Math at Udipi and at Moola Rath in Hiriyadka. and his first keep and a son, Vishal, born in relationship with her, were given shelter and were made to reside in the 2nd floor of the Shiroor math at Udipi. Ramya Shetty’s who by then had established, close relationship with swamji, wanted to assert her right, had started frequently going to Udipi Shiroor Math, which did not go well with the first keep who had started openly questioned Ramya Shetty’s presence.

Sources on Anonymity said, that Ramya Shetty has abused the 1st keep of swamji in the most unparliamentary language, after both picked up a tiff at Udipi Shiroor Math.. Sensing trouble that relationship with Ramya shetty will come to open, swamji had decided, to provide a safe shelter to the 1st Keep and son Vishal aged 16 years, has bought a accommodation at Kalsanka in Udipi in which they are presiding there now, and swamji moved to Moola Math in Hiriyadka and started staying there.

Because of this background, that none of the Swamijis from Sri Krishna Matha other Math in Udipi had not taken part in the funeral, bearing in mind, that the devotees were only aware, that Sri Laxmivarateertha Swamiji became Sanyasi in 1971 and had developed a Bhakti on him.

Further, the sources said, that Ramya Shetty had started coming to Moola Math at Hiriyadka 7months ago and had picked up a quarrel demanding one full floor of 9 floor Kanaka Mall that was planned to be constructed, which was a joint venture project between shiroor swamiji and Jayakrishna shetty a realtor and builder from Mumbai. (now left half way under construction for over two years). The same Ramya shetty, had convinced swamiji to stop going a ahead with Kanaka Mall project, unless the was refixed at fifty percent for swamji, when it was earlier fixed at seventy percent in favour of Jayakrishna Shetty.

It is also stated that INOX theatre too was built by Bhasker Shetty on a land on lease given by Shiroor Math Swamji,which is near to Shiroor Laxmi Mall, a huge commercial building which was developed on Joint venture on a land belonging to the Shiroor Math, at the entrance to Manipal. Several Crores of rupees is said, due to swamiji from that Shiroor Laxmi Mall Joint venture.
